This time, good ol' France received this particular boxset for the PSP: Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker with the accessories made by HORI if I am correct. These accessories were available as a separate bundle, but GAME in France received it as an exclusive special edition pack that comes with the game, which makes this an exclusive collectible.

Oh, those country exclusives...

When you don't know much about a game...
... but still decide to get it because it received a CE and the images look good... that's what happened when I decided to pick up a copy of Fate Extra for the PSP, thanks to those guys at Ghostlight who are bringing us many japanese games that otherwise nobody would give a sh!t whether they were released in Europe or not. And I appreciate that a lot, honestly.

VITA comes out and what did I get?
Yeah, I'm boycotting VITA.
...
Not really, I just don't have the money and I really don't feel like buying that console because it didn't impress me that much when I tried it at a demo kiosk... If I had some spare money I'd probably pick it, but unfortunately there's NO WAY I have the money to pay for the console and all the accessories and memory stick knowing that so many things will be coming out in recent months. I'm leaving this console behind. But to be honest, there's another thing that suddenly became a little hard to find in a brand new condition... Mine's an old store stock, but it's new and remains untouched thankfully. I'm talking about the PSP Go. It became a little hard to nearly impossible to find over here and it was discontinued by Sony as you already know. I thought it would be best for me to buy one before it was too late to find one new...

PlayEnglish
This game certainly wasn't released in the UK. Why? Because it's a childish game that supposedly teaches you to write and speak English. I have no idea how the game works because I never tried to play it but the truth is it received a collector's edition (a crappy one, actually). I got it for collection purposes and obviously because it's a Portuguese CE., but it took me a fairly long time to find out one of these for a rather cheap price. I simply wasn't willing to pay the original price for this game.

That's fast!
One of the best racers on PSP and one of the reasons why owning the console really is worth it. I don't know why but I really like to see wipeout games on the PSP, they seem to fit the console pretty well. I don't think the same about many other ports or spinoffs that seem more suitable to be played at home with a big screen. This is the Wipeout Puls Press Kit, still factory sealed.
Persona 2
Persona is one popular RPG series released in japan for... a long time. The series only arrived in Europe way too late and as usual it didn't get the same treatment in Europe. We get some of the games once in a while, when certain independent publishers randomly decide to bring these titles to Europe. This one was borught by Ghostlight. I am very happy to know that these companies exist in Europe, otherwise we wouldn't be receiving such games... Persona 2 Collector's Edition for PSP, directly from Ghostlight's website.

Kingdom Hearts pain to get...
With the newly released Collector's Edition titles for PSP (I'm talking about Persona 2 and Trails in the Sky...) I remembered I have been missing a particular PSP Edition for a long time now and it was becoming a pain to find a factory sealed copy. It's the Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Special Edition in factory sealed condition. Damn it was not that easy to find a good price for this thing as all the deals I've found for a seald copy were usually 50 euros or more. Finally I found a place selling that for almost half the price. It was now or never folks... so I got it =)

This! Is!.... Ghost of Sparta!
Yes you heard about it. Yes Sony was offering it on the PSN website. No I did not win it. Yes I did pay for it. No it wasn't expensive. Yes I was lucky. No, I did not play this one yet, and I believe it's the only GoW game I still haven't played. And yes I do expect to play the game once I get the original copy.
I know this game stands somewhere after II and before III. I finished the previous PSP game and loved it but unfortunately I now have other things to play, such as Golden Sun on my Nintendo DS. This one will have to wait for a while, but I'll eventually play it. This press kit is not as impressive as the one for PS3, which is a good thing in a way, mainly because of the amazingly stupid prices some people ask for it, EVEN WHEN THE TRUE VALUE WAS LISTED ON THE PSN WEBSITE. But noooo, nowadays it's the press kit fever. "Oh Noes I got this really crappy press kit with is just a bunch of promo items and a disc, gonna sell for £200 on ebay because people actually pay for it!"

First time I ever found this.
And managed to snatch it into my collection. This thing here is a PSP Go! Explore press kit. Comes with the fancy outer card box. Inside there's another box that holds the GPS device, a demo UMD, the press disc, a good looking booklet and even the PSP Camera. Why they included the camera with this kit surpasses me. The PSP Go Explore was quite expensive and it's no longer found in many places at least over here, so I do think that I made a good deal on this one. It's the first and only I've seen so far so I'm glad I got it.

Portuguese exclusive variants of limited editions
Something quite rare in the past, that is now becoming fairly common. Portuguese exclusive limited editions with Portuguese language on the box will certainly become rare variants in the future for several hardcore collectors, specially considering it's such a small country with less people, which means the number of these editions produced must be low. So far I was able to get the following editions:
-Uncharted 2 (PS3)
-Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time (PS3)~
-inFamous
-Forza Motorsport 3 (360)
-Gran Turismo (PSP)
-Motorstorm Artic Edge (PSP)
And I am still missing the following:
- Little Big Planet (PSP)
-The Godfather (PS2)
-Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii)
I plan to keep all the editions sealed, but due to the lack of money I was not able to get inFamous still sealed, even though I do have a mint condition one.

Another one of these?
Yep... I did not resist to buy the white PSP Final Fantasy Dissidia Limited Edition. Might have been a stupid decision to spend s much cash in a console I hardly even play, but considering I already had the Crisis Core edition and I'm a real Final Fantasy fan, I decided to spend some cash. At least this was released in Europe. Too bad the original Japanese boxes are much better. Instead we get a regular commercial package instead of the fine box with the logo on it. But at least it was released over here, which is good considering the majority of similar editions never leave japan! The collector's edition of the game alone is already heading my way as well.

Monter Hunter Unite
Originally released for the Playstation 2, Monster Hunter became a very popular game in Japan even though it did not have such great impact in the US or Europe. The name says it all: the quest to hunt and battle immense and gigantic creatures through huge scenarios and dungeons. While it may look simplistic and not very original, it is a recommendable gaming experience to anyone and a game I particularly enjoy since the first release.
Above is the european press release boxset. A great looking box with a starter's guide, mobile phone strap-on and the game itself of course, immitating an old book made with reptile skin.

Final Fantasy Updated
There are so many games, editions and consoles of Final Fantasy to collect, that if I wanted to complete my Final Fantasy Wishlist I would have to sacrifice many other games and consoles. In the past few years my Final Fantasy collection did not increase that much if you consider what there is to buy.
Before moving into games from other regions, I still wish to complete my PAL collection. This means that I will have to get the PSP versions of I and II, the european version of FFIV, all the Xbox 360 games (there are at least 5 of them ), Chrystal Chronicles Rings of Fire and Tactics A2 for DS, Crystal Cronicles box set for GC and possibly some spin-offs like Final Fantasy Fables on the Wii and Chocobo Racing for PS1. I do have some other spin-offs but I left them out of the picture. Once I have all those editions, I will move to some country exclusives such as:
-PS2 version of FFXI
-Gameboy games (Legends I, II III and Adventure)
-American titles for SNES
-Final Fantasy Tactics for the american PS1.
Only after that I will focus on getting the Original NES and SNES japanese editions, as well as some limited console versions that will be a pain to obtain. So far, I hope you enjoy my collection - it probably does not contain many games that most serious Final Fantasy collectors out there consider a "must", but this is my own collection :) And if you compare with the previous picture that I posted in 2006 over here, you'll see the collection still grew a bit :)

Pink
I knew they would like to release a Pink PSP, but to actually use the popstar as a reference to sell the console itself was something unexpected. This small (but large) promo folder is a 3d paper model (great looking by the way) with the promo disc and the UMD music video that comes with the PSP Pink Edition. A pretty nice addition to the collection, and great looking. I really thought it was not worth buying when I first found out and let it go, but now that I have my own I do consider this a pretty nice purchase!

Killzone Liberation
We do know that Sony enjoys releasing special packs to promote their main games. The ones that are publicitized everywhere. Killzone is one of them. And this special pack is pretty sweet too. Everything you need in war is included: A tactical dossier (information leaflet), Ground assault (the game), Battlefield Intel (press disc), and most inportant thing (not!), the Combat Gear (a t-shirt). Bring it on!

Gangs of London
To be honest, I don't know much about this game. I've seen many pics and heard about it before it was released but never managed to play it. Then I saw this edition and grabed it as soon as I had the chance. A box set imitating a crime report where the files are in fact promotional papers with information about the game. The evidence is a promo copy of the game. Pretty nice. The edition has an old-fashined look (no, it is not damaged or dirty, it really is like that).

Patapon
Another great title created by the producers (or makers, whatever) of LocoRoco. Original, one of a kind. Sure, but I am starting to think originality must evolve to something bigger than just games like this one. So many things to be done in videogames... Hope the future is more promising than it actually looks. Anyways, this is another of the many editions I have and just came to my hands this week. Includes a leaflet with pics and information, the promo version of the game and the regular press disc. It was kinda hard to get a hold of this edition since I failed to get two before, and it is not easily found. This one came from Australia.

Collector's rampage, again.
You think I've shown you everything yet? Wrong! Sure, the most important things are already shown. Check the archives if you have not seen everything. Anyway, some of the latest finds in my colection, a few were very recently added while others ave been there for some time now. Here we go...

Favourite editions #5
This is a Survival kit for Tekken Dark Resurrection on the PSP that includes a promo copy of the game and an additional DVD. Also comes with an informative book and 14 survival cads for the main characters tha tells you real-life procedures to protect yourself against the character's attacks in the game. Most of those cards *were supposed* to be funny. This particular edition is quite important in my collection.
