Not sure how this fits in my videogame collection...

Found a Forza 4 Car wash kit. It doesn't come with the game and it's probably just a promotional item but I found it quite amusing and it includes a booklet with information. The price was appealing too, so I thought "hey, why not?" and bought it :)

Football. I'll never understand all the hype...

We not always get exclusive editions... but when we do, they kinda suck... but when the retail price is not much different from the regular game, it's not that bad! And that's what happened with Pro Evolution Soccer 2013. Over here (and probably in Spain) we received a Master Edition with a PES watch and some postcards signed by Cristiano Ronaldo. I actually sold the regular game because I wanted to get this edition before they appear destroyed at stores since it's a fragile cardbox. The game will be available at a low cots price once a newer game gets released, and I'll get it by then :).

And since we're talking about football , I also found a rather rare item which is definitely exclusive to Portugal since it was released by one of the distributors over here: a PES 2008 box set also signed by Cristiano Ronaldo. I knew about this box set because I saw a picture in a collection. It was the PS2 version. I never expected to get this, really. This edition was a gift it seems, and I have no idea how to get it. It's not something that would appear on eBay. I never really expected to find one so soon. This one's really tough to get, after all these years wanting to have one...

Impressive!

Yes, impressive! I don't see many press kits lying around in my country. Actually, I've only seen like 4 or 5 at most over the years. Then one day I was looking at this website and came across something that caught my attention because I had never seen it bfore: playable review codes for both Ico & Shadow of Colossus HD + God of War Collection Vol. 2 with a unique package. It certainly is not a very big deal, but for a collector like me, I couldn't resists. It's the first and only time I ever saw this. How could I miss it, especially knowing they now complete my collection of games from two important series. And I don't have the retail versions yet as well but now I do have a special copy of the two games =)

Ratcher & Clank All for (yet another) One

Yep, it's here, the newest title from the series. I always preferred Jak over Ratchet but game developers don't seem to think likewise so Jak never had the opportunity to have his own game published on PS3. Sucks. The Portuguese Edition is fully in Portuguese (obvious comment is obvious) but what I meant to say here is that even the title this time was translated unlike the previous game that retained the original English title. That sucks though, I would prefer to see the English title because that's the official thing. Does Sony think the Portuguese Market is just like the Spanish one or something? It ain't.

So here's this particular variant that you'll not get because you don't care: Ratchet & Clank: Um por Todos Edição de Coleccionador, which translates to "Ratchet & Clank One for All Collector's Edition" (Captain Obvious to the rescue). See, you now know how to write some stuff in Portuguese! Isn't that awesome? I waited a little bit to see if the price of this game would drop, and it happened last weekend.

Happy birthday Halo. How long has it been already?

Hallo anniversary is the HD version of one of the greatest shooters released on the Xbox. I never really followed the series but I still spent a couple of days playing the original game on multi-player and I must say the experience was quite enjoyable. Fortunately, they decided to release this anniversary edition for a much lower price compared to a new game, and the price already dropped to half over here. There was a Portuguese edition released and I have my copy guaranteed form a friend (unfortunately the price dropped just before Xmas so all copies vanished from stores at that price) but before I was able to find the regular copy I managed to get this promotional pack that comes with the promotional copy of the game (duh...) which also includes a slipcase (not as beautiful as the original one), a t-shirt and a poster, all inside a black UNSC plastic bag. It's no big deal, but when stuff like this is cheaper than the regular game when it comes out, who am I to let it go??

Streets of Ra... er Tekken

The pic above is from a press kit I managed to snag some time ago. It's from one of my favourite 3d fighting games released since the early 32 bits 3d consoles. The game remains loyal to the series but unfortunately the usual "Tekken force" mode, this time called story mode... in my honest opinion it's pretty bad. The game itself is great but I don't think this beats tekken 5, my favourite one so far. I don't like to play online, there's usually too much lag involved not to menting the time it takes to find someone to fight with at least with me. The arcade mode is pretty damn good but you can't score higher ranks if you don't play online and that totally ruind the fun for me. There are some very interesting scenarios in the game and the gameplay remains great but the story mode just sucks, it's like a new verison of Streets of Rage game or something like that with a pretty bad gameplay. I still prefer VS mode above the online.

Anyway, it's still one of the best 3d fighting games around.

R/C Stuntcopter Boxset and a little something

I am extremelly surprised to find out that even after all this time there are still limited edition being found to my favourite console: the PS1. And this boxset in particular is quite a surprise: an R/C Stuntcopter limited edition with a t-shirt included. After all these years, I have never seen it before.

And at the same time, I found something that took me ages to get after my good friend Defcon got the one I found: a small, collector's edition promo of Italian Job. Thank you so much to Evgenij for sending this little beauty to me for such a low price and SO FAST. It really came VERY FAST by regular mail.

Black and white... and red...

Another little thingy above: a promo pack for the game MadWorld on Wii. Gore and Violence at its greatest. Besides the black envelope and the t-shirt, it comes with the cool OST disc, which was also an offer for preorders. I do have the game as well, but I forgot to
include it in the picture :)

It's time to groove, get your body shakin'

A small promo edition containing a demo disc for those Eyetoy games. Nothing I particularly appreciate, but still worth picking for collection purposes.

Burnout Revenge

This prticular promo kit does not include anything related to the game. It either is incomplete or it really is just this: a crash kit with a camera (nice!), a paper ruler, a pen and even one of those insurance papers with the Burnout logo. It is very original I must say. Another one of those editions that I enjoy collectiong. I had no idea this even existed.

Note. Since I am not a fan of violence, accidents and people suffering, all occupants were uninjured in the picture selected for the background, despite the nasty look of the cars.

Pink

I knew they would like to release a Pink PSP, but to actually use the popstar as a reference to sell the console itself was something unexpected. This small (but large) promo folder is a 3d paper model (great looking by the way) with the promo disc and the UMD music video that comes with the PSP Pink Edition. A pretty nice addition to the collection, and great looking. I really thought it was not worth buying when I first found out and let it go, but now that I have my own I do consider this a pretty nice purchase!

Get Together... With PS2?

Let's imagine, you and a bunch of hot babes stand alone at home together and to have some fun you decide to... Play PS2? Yeah sure I'd tell ya what I'd play... Now seriously, Sony tried to innovate by creating party/familly games with additional features "never seen before in videogames". We have Buzz, Eyetoy and Singstar. They all became games with little depth, most of the times repetitive and only worth some hours of serious play. This is just the perspective of a more serious gamer like me. For the casual gamer these might be very entertaining, true. But I guess Sony's objective was to hunt the public that really isn't into videogames by creating something they could simply enjoy. Sony's efforts did pay off, as most of these games were in fact a success, specially the singstar family. Above is a promo pack that features one edition for each acessory in a nice looking pack. Microsoft just picked up the Buzzers idea and made their own called "Big Button" (talking about creative names...), ready to be released for the 360. They better release some special edition such as this one if they want to catch my attention. This is another one of those editions I bought exclusively for collection purposes and not really to play, but that doesn't mean I don't like the games or the edition itself. I just don't take these games just as serious.

Devil May Cry

When I took my copy of Resident Evil: Code Veronica X off the self, I realized it had a bonus disc. As I was playing the game and being killed by zombies after a few hours of play, I got bored and turned the console off. But then, when I was going to place the disc inside the case... there it was, the playable demo of a certain game called Devil May Cry. Let's try it out...

...I played and finished the demo. I kinda enjoyed the game but money was short and I deffinitely would not buy it, there were other priorities. Needless to say I ended up purchasing the game. Played till the very end, all difficulty levels, even got an S rank in every mission in Dante Must Die. All done. Some time later, #2 came out and I had to buy it. Unfortunately I did not like it as much. The gameplay was fine, but the storyline did not catch my attention. I finished that game, then by the time I made it to the university #3 came out. I never finished the third one unfortunately. And #4 is coming. Damn I have to catch up fast.

The first Devil May Cry was a reference to me. Finally I bought a game where I could do some nice stunts, fast-paced action, it was a great experience... Okay, Enough talk now.

My collection includes the following: The regular edition of the original game and a Special edition promo version that comes in a card sleeve/digipack. Great-looking, but no big deal here. Then I have two editions of Devil May Cry 2: the retail version and the Limited Promo edition with a pretty cool slipcase. It was not pictured though, but if you'd like to see it just add a comment. Finally I have two limited editions of the third game. In fact they are the regular game with a limited edition cover/slipcase, and that's it. There are two covers, one is exclusive to the UK and the other one is exclusive to Germany. They both look really great and I love artworks such as these. I am still missing the Special Edition of the third game, but that one is fairly common and since I did not finish the third game, now's the chance =).

A couple of new stuff...

The background sucks I know. These are just a couple of items I purchased lately and that I could not add to the pictures already posted before. First is the Australian version of Budokai 3 that comes with a large tin to hold the other Budokai games. Secondly comes a Colin Mcrae Rally 3 version with a card sleeve and different cover. Finally, and mos importantly (to me), it's the Gran Turismo Geneve 2004 Demo that comes with the Toyota MTRC. I already have this in the NTSC Format but I finally managed to get the PAL version, since I basically collect PAL games.

Toca? A8 Supercars? DTM? What is this game?

Yes, they're all the same game. The name changes for a few countries. Toca is the name for most coutries. A8 Supercars is the Australian version and DTM the German version. In fact, I only have these games because they're the limited promo edition. I'd rather own the regular versions but I have time to buy them any time. These are kinda hard to come by. They were supposed to come in a metallic box, but the UK version was the only one I found wit it. As much as the metallic box is equal for all, I don't really care if I only have one.

Driving is a pleasure

I really like to drive my car down the hill at night. Sometimes I go too fast and I can hear the tires while turning. Saddly I don't have a good car and it's not even an FR so it doesn't drift. It does slide sideways sometimes though. But I'm not that good a driver though. Thankfully, Mr. Kazunori Yamauchi came up with this great game. It's not perfect, but it's the best you can find. And I thought playing a "driving simulator" was not as good as playing a regular racing game. I was wrong.

My collection includes GT1, GT2, GT3, GT Concept Tokyo-Geneva, GT Concept Limited Edition, GT 4 Prologue, GT4, GT4 limited edition (two boxes), GT4 Nissan Micra Edition and the official Nissan Micra Roma kit that comes with another copy of the Micra Edition, GT4 Limited edition Toyota Demo (NTSC) and GT4 BMW test drive demo. I'm still missing a couple of games though, gotta get them when I have the chance.
