Oh my gosh it flies!

Another huge edition arrived at my door and I wasn't really expecting to buy this thing any time soon. I made a preorder just in case and cancelled before the release date. I accidently preorder this twice, one for PS3 and the other one for XBox 360 and I only cancelled the PS3 version. As a result I was surprised by a delivery guy that called me to deliver Call of Duty Black Ops II Care Package for Xbox 360. Damn! It's a nice edition. Not perfect, but nice. It's huge as well. I no longer have space to keep these huge editions. I was saving my money to buy other editions but now I was charged a lot of money for this. I considered returning it at first, but someone actually made me decide to keep it.

New member: Xbox 360 Slim MW3 edition

As I said before, my Xbox 360 Elite just died on me while I was playing Mass Effect. This thing happened exactly after the new year celebrations, when I decided to play at 1 a.m. I didn't even have the chance to play for 5 minutes before those heartbreaking red lights started to flash. That was nasty. I mean, I've been hearing these stories and watching vids for a vrey long time, and when it finally happened to me it I nearly sh*t bricks.

Before I even decided to buy a slim console, I tried to fix my elite model by myself - I know this could happen again even if I fixed it but I still tried because I wanted to make sure I could save my files, remove my Mass Effect disc from the console and  at least make sure the console is working before putting it to rest inside its original box. I did fix the console and it's now working. Then I went out and bought an Xbox 360 Slim. The best ppackage was in fact the Modern Warfare 3 limited console, with two controllers, headset, 320 GB and the game. I picked it and I'm certainly not regretting. I how have an Xbox 360 Slim version in my collection =)

But then... I just found out something terrible... actually, two things. First, this console I just bought did not come with an HDMI cable. WHAT THE... And secondly, if I wanted to pass the data from my old disc into the Xbox slim, there were several ways and the easiest required me to buy a cable that costs 20 euros. TO HELL WITH YOU MICRO$H*T. I bought the cable for half the price from a local Gamestop. The cable was CLEARLY used but they were selling it as new. Why? Because the cable was either used by an employee or some butthole costumer bought it just to do his stuff and returned the cable. But I don't fall for that sh!t and noticed it had been opened. I am seriously offended by this kind of attitude from shop owners. Seriously.

Then those people at Gamestop thought this cable was for the older Xbox models only and wouldn't work with the slim consoles - or at least the guy who sold me the cable said that, even when its package already had the slim design. I still bothered trying to buy a brand new cable but it was nearly sold out and the only one I found was still selling for 20. No way.

The next COD game will offer you a real AK7 for just €500.

Yup... for about 130 euros I got the prestige edition with the incomplete hardened edition and the RC car. They surely have some original ideas, but stupidly high prices for a single game. It took me a while until I decided to buy the game. First, I said I wasn't going to buy that. But then... I ended up buying. I am a weak person, really...

Finished the game. Good, but more of the same without nothing original... Storyline is nice but a little confusing. The ending is pretty good though, a little unexpected. I do have trouble understanding all those americanized soldiers are saying... I'm not really a fan of shooters, but I must say that MW2 1 and 2, but specially 1, are the best of their kind in recent years.

Happy New Year 2010

Been a while. I usually never stop searching for games, but I get tired when I have too much work to do. That's wy I haven't updated this blog for a while. For now, I'll add a couple of the most important purchases. Mainly regular games and collector's editions, but nothing out of ordinary. I've had some personal and proffessional problems last month. Now that they are solved it's time to keep up with this stuff.

And since it's not too late yet, I whish everyone a happy 2010. We'll have some great games coming this year that I can hardly wait.

Let's start with something that could be rare but became quite common in the end. I heard about a boycot. In the end, it was one of the best sellers this year. Basically, I'm talking about Modern Warfare 2. And as you probably guessed already, I did get a Prestige Edition.

Modern Warfare fever is rising up.

It's almost here, the most amazing shooter of recent times. Modern Warfare 2 is about to hit the stores with at least 2 collector's editions, including the heavly sough-after Prestige Edition. I already have one european edition preordered since last summer but I will only be happy once I have it in my hands as I never know if the stock will last to fill my order. I hope so because I really don't like to see it reaching prices of 300+ pounds on ebay >_>

With all the MW2 hype rising everywhere (what about the boycott?) I thought it was the right time to target something important I've left behind until now:

PS: Yes I will get the exclusive Veteran Edition as well :)
