Dropship Press Kit for the PS2. It's not one of those impressive press kits for the most recent games such as The Order or Bloodborne, but it's something I've lost twice many years ago and never really had the chance to get it. Until now. It's one of those tough finds that took me many years to get but I finally managed to find one for sale and it ended for a reasonable price. I'm glad I was finally able to scratch this one off my wishlist :D.

Slipcases, slipcases. Slipcases everywhere!
Starting with this Call of Juarez the Cartel Slipcase. I know there are two, this one seems the harder to find. If you remove the bandoleer the slipcase unfolds behind revealing fome info about the game. It's quite original I must say. Then, there's this is a limited edition that caught my attention because it's also one of those that unfolds into a 3D diorama. It's also exclusive to France. I don't have much interest in the game itself but the slipcase actually caught my attention.
This one from Metro 2033 is just a regular slipcase used to distinguish the limited edition from the regular game, because the game box is just a normal one but this brings a DLC code and some postcards.
I've never seen this one before. World Championship Rugby promotional copy with a slipcase that promotes the game itself for the several platforms it was released for. Promo stuff only, no doubt about it.

Singstar? No, Not the sort of games I'd go out buying...
Yes they are fun to play with friends blah blah blah but I really don't feel like buying these games... unless of course they are something exclusive just as this particular Blue BBVA Pack that was only offered in Spain in a limited promotion for those who opened a blue account or whatever it was called. This pack is exclusive to that promotion and it's only found in Spain so I believe it's a toughie to find. I never ever heard about this before which is normal because I don't know what's going on in other countries that have websites or stores in different languages, but I stumbled across when I visited a 2nd hand store and they actually had this pack with the game still factory sealed. I called it a lucky shot. It's not something I love or even like that much but I bought it for collection purposes. The game included is nothing more than a copy of a regular Singstar game released in Spain, based in a spanish version of Pop Idol I believe.
It also hurts to say this but... I also bought another Singtstar game named Morangos com Açucar. That's was just... TOO WRONG to buy that game if it wasn't a Portuguese exclusive. It comes from a TV Show that (some people will kill me for saying this) sucks. It's mostly directed at young people with pimps that like stupid hair styles, kinky music, teenage love stories and first sexual experiences after masturbation. Even I had pimps and hate that show. And they released a Singstar game with the amazingly awesome soundtrack from the show. Oh well...

This time they did their homework...
The limited Collector's edition of Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus is the real deal. Well, almost at least... This time that Zen United or whatever that store is called released a fairly better edition with a proper package, unlike that Blazblue fan edition crap. This particular edition does have a real box, individually numbered from 1 to 200. However, those guys are trying to rip off people. How can they force you to pay VAT over the price listed? And on top of that, why do we have to pay so much for postage in Europe? That's ridiculous! The original listed price of £66 suddenly becomes twice as much, and I am not exaggerating. THAT IS RIDICULOUS FOR GOD'S SAKE! But still, I bought it. I'm so stupid that I can't miss these editions... oh well...
And to make things even worse, why the hell are we forced to chose between a limited edition artbook and a regular Japanese artbook? Well I've chosen the Japanese book. Why? The limited artbook is exclusive to this edition. The other book is something that was released in stores so it's a professional stuff. The picture of the edition showed the limited artbook was much smaller /with less pages. Chances were... the limited artbook would be crap compared to the 10th Memorial which is available for sale in several stores. So I decided to buy the 10th memorial artbook. But at the price they asked for this edition, they should pretty much include both books. Why didn't they do that in first place?? Was it hard considering we had to pay over 100 pounds?

Guitar Hero, Band hero, DJ Hero, Rock Band... Isn't that a little too much??
Yes, I am sick of games like this. The first... 4 or so were funny. But now? It's just sick. There are way too may now. And most of them have the complete band. That's enough dudes, knock it off... It's not funny anymore, people are getting tired...
I believe this was only available for stores to help promoting the game. It's nothing special, but considering it's not for sale, I thought it was worth to pick!

Too many Buzz games already. Give it a break will ya?
Not much to talk here, this is just one of the few presskits I am missing for the PS2, the Buzz Hollywood Quiz Press Kit that comes inside one of those film cases made of tin. I hate tin, it gets rusty after a couple of years but I added a speciall coating this time. This edition is not a big deal, but I had the chance to get it... and so I did. I believe it was never opened, but I may be wrong.

Meet the new members of the family =)
Finally, the older syster of my first consle ever has made it to my collection. I'm quite glad I bought this piece of history. This ones the "Plus" pack, which comes with the extra gun. There's also a similar pack for SMSII.
Yes it's true, up to this point I missed one of the most important videogaing pieces ever. The original Gameboy with black and white screen. I was never given this little gem when I was a kid and it took me plenty of time to get it because I had other priorities. Now that a good chance came up, I decided to buy it.
Okay so this might not be as old as the other two, but it's a very interesting item. The most beautiful PS2 console in my opinion. I felt in love when I first saw it, and now I finally have one in mint condition with a near perfect box :)
I'm happy to say that my console list is nearly completed. I'm missing only Megadrive 1 and both mega CDs as well as one Gameboy Pocket from the older consoles. However, my top priority will be getting a complete Multi Mega console. It will take some months because I'm more concerned with this terrible wave of new releases during the Xmas season and so little money available right now. Once I get all the games I want from this season within the next 4 months or so, I'll search the whole world for a complete MultiMega.

A full set of interesting editions
As I've said before, I had a couple of editions in my sleeve but I was waiting for them. Now, to make a brief description of them...
Bionic commando. Does this even have anything to do with the nes classic? Have to do some research... A promo edition in a nice boxset with a bonus t-shirt.

Yes I know you've seen it before. But actually this one is different than the other. The picture included in the frame is not the same Prince but one of the bosses. And this frame is even numbered. I assume that there are more pictures of the other bosses with numbers as well, though I may be wrong, but if I'm rigth (I may be very wrong...) there are 5 diferent boxes and I currently own 2 of them.
This little gem is a FFXII press kit. Compared to its previous kits from VIII and X, this one's a little poor but still includes some nice art cards, a map and other extra stuff. All fit inside a fragile card box.
Bionic commando. Does this even have anything to do with the nes classic? Have to do some research... A promo edition in a nice boxset with a bonus t-shirt.
Ninja blade, a fine boxset that does not even include the game, only the promo stuff.
Miss croft has this blue boxset with her sillhouette. Inside there are a few bonus items and a press disc, including an action figure and a t-shirt. Nice one too, but probably not as nice as the previous ones.
Now this one looks pretty good and even comes with the retail version of the game. Halo Wars, long box set.
One of the most original editions I've bought in recent times. This edition really seemed nothing special at all, but once I received it I loved it. A square box, completely green with the game logo on it. Once you open it, you see it filled with 9 real tennis balls. I usually take good care of these boxsets, so I only opened the box half way because I was afraid to open it all. But then I realised I was actually supposed to open the box like that when I noticed it was actually a tennis court. Very original indeed, I totaly underestimated this one!

Slim line now available.
Now that the PS3 slim finally came out, I stumbled across this mint condition PS2 slim model. It's used, but if you're well informed you already know the differences between this and the current PS2 slim on sale. I expect to get the newest model too, but not any time soon.
I won't be buying the PS3 slim now, not even close. The PSP Go is also coming soon but I am not really that big a psp fan to buy yet another PSP especially knowing it will be DL-only without any physical support. I an a fan of physical media. It will be impossible to collect downloadable games when there's no physical support. I understand that the production of millions of games and discs wastes way too many natural resources, and we have to get used to that because soon enought most consoles should all be like this in the near future, meaning it should be the end of physical software, no matter how much we like it or not. So basically, for me, PSP GO and PS3 Slim are out of the question.
PSP Final Fantasy Dissidia version was just released and I expect to buy that console next month. It will be what I call a waste of money in an expensive current gen portable system with little or no use at all. I wanted to buy the Red Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 but I am currently struggling with so many things coming out at the same time that it is impossible to get a hold of everything. So, once again, I have to make decisions and sacrifices (if it's not a sin to apply this word when talking about videogames...) and decide what I really want to buy.

Talking about nasty things...
I don't know much about the game itself, but I know it's good enough to be bought. And when these fancy editions pop up, I just can't resist them :). That's the Forbidden Siren Press Kit :)

It's time to groove, get your body shakin'
A small promo edition containing a demo disc for those Eyetoy games. Nothing I particularly appreciate, but still worth picking for collection purposes.

iT ScAreS mE a loT...
... not the game itself, but the fact that I am still missing so many editions of Resident Evil... And I also hate when I have things that I forget to add to these collection photos. Let's see what I forgot to add to the picture:
-Resident Evil 4 Collector's edition DVD
-Resident Evil 0 for Gamecube
-Resident Evil 4 with art cards and bonus disc from the Gamecube Resident Evil Limited Edition
-Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition.
Now let's see what I'm missing (teh horror teh horror):
-Resident Evil 2 and 3 for DC
-Resident Evil 2, 3 and Code Veronica X for GC
-Resident Evil 2 for N64
-Resident Evil Survivor for PS1
-Resident Evil Dead Aim for PS2
-Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles for Wii
-Resident Evil 4 Limited Edition slipcase for GC.
And I think I did not forget anything this time. So much stuff...

Final Fantasy Updated
There are so many games, editions and consoles of Final Fantasy to collect, that if I wanted to complete my Final Fantasy Wishlist I would have to sacrifice many other games and consoles. In the past few years my Final Fantasy collection did not increase that much if you consider what there is to buy.
Before moving into games from other regions, I still wish to complete my PAL collection. This means that I will have to get the PSP versions of I and II, the european version of FFIV, all the Xbox 360 games (there are at least 5 of them ), Chrystal Chronicles Rings of Fire and Tactics A2 for DS, Crystal Cronicles box set for GC and possibly some spin-offs like Final Fantasy Fables on the Wii and Chocobo Racing for PS1. I do have some other spin-offs but I left them out of the picture. Once I have all those editions, I will move to some country exclusives such as:
-PS2 version of FFXI
-Gameboy games (Legends I, II III and Adventure)
-American titles for SNES
-Final Fantasy Tactics for the american PS1.
Only after that I will focus on getting the Original NES and SNES japanese editions, as well as some limited console versions that will be a pain to obtain. So far, I hope you enjoy my collection - it probably does not contain many games that most serious Final Fantasy collectors out there consider a "must", but this is my own collection :) And if you compare with the previous picture that I posted in 2006 over here, you'll see the collection still grew a bit :)

Burnout Revenge
This prticular promo kit does not include anything related to the game. It either is incomplete or it really is just this: a crash kit with a camera (nice!), a paper ruler, a pen and even one of those insurance papers with the Burnout logo. It is very original I must say. Another one of those editions that I enjoy collectiong. I had no idea this even existed.
Note. Since I am not a fan of violence, accidents and people suffering, all occupants were uninjured in the picture selected for the background, despite the nasty look of the cars.

Driver Parallel Lines
Here is a good example of a good game that became nothing more that average, maybe good to some people. The original Driver games for the PS1 were awesome, some of the best driving experences I ever played on that console. But when #3 came out, it was considered average or bellow. This latest release is superior to the previous game in many aspects , which is good, but has not left any signs for a better and improved game, specially considering how far ahead its most direct rival is right now (yeah, I'm talking about GTA). Anyway, this special edition belongs to a series of games that made my joy back in the PS1 era and I still respect them. Here's a special promotional release which comes with a bonus disc an an LP disc or whatever you call it in english. Very nice, the only one I ever found so far, I'm glad that I actually got it!

Get Together... With PS2?
Let's imagine, you and a bunch of hot babes stand alone at home together and to have some fun you decide to... Play PS2? Yeah sure I'd tell ya what I'd play... Now seriously, Sony tried to innovate by creating party/familly games with additional features "never seen before in videogames". We have Buzz, Eyetoy and Singstar. They all became games with little depth, most of the times repetitive and only worth some hours of serious play. This is just the perspective of a more serious gamer like me. For the casual gamer these might be very entertaining, true. But I guess Sony's objective was to hunt the public that really isn't into videogames by creating something they could simply enjoy. Sony's efforts did pay off, as most of these games were in fact a success, specially the singstar family. Above is a promo pack that features one edition for each acessory in a nice looking pack. Microsoft just picked up the Buzzers idea and made their own called "Big Button" (talking about creative names...), ready to be released for the 360. They better release some special edition such as this one if they want to catch my attention. This is another one of those editions I bought exclusively for collection purposes and not really to play, but that doesn't mean I don't like the games or the edition itself. I just don't take these games just as serious.
War of The Monsters
Have you ever though of a game where all your favourite giant creatures fight against each other? Wouldn't it be cool? Well, not really, it's a pretty obvious idea. But the game's pretty nice and worth a try. I have two of these editions, but only one is complete with the gigantic poster. There aren't many of these around, each poster is individually numbered which means only a few were ever produced. I don't know how many. By the way the background image (which, by the way, you can't really see...) is from Ultraman. I wanted to add a Kamen Rider or Sentai image because I do like those shows and I don't know much about Ultraman, but that pic was nice and easy to find, so, ... whatever, just cut the crap...
DJ Decks and FX
Whilst I appreciate all sorts of *good* music except hardcore styles such as most Metals and certain styles of Hip Hop, Rap (and I deffinitely do not like Kuduro), my favourite music styles are in fact Dance Music (eurodance style), Trance and House/Club and similar styles (not including mind-blowing and repetitive Tecno). So, here's another special thingy: DJ Decks and FX edition. Silver bag, card slipcase, two discs, manual, nothing else. Looks good, but very simplistic. And yes it's very unusual to find this edition, although it is not worth much.
Airblade?
I have not played this game so there isn't much I can tell about it. I found this edition and picked it for a very good price. Comes with a wallet/bag and two discs inside a circle-shaped case. And that's it.

Formula 1
A limited edition of Formula 1 99 released in France only, in a nice box, a t-shirt and a cap. I'm not sure why it was only released in France though, maybe to celebrate something like the Monde des Bleues Edition. The other one is a Formula 1 2003 Press edition with two discs, one of them being the promo version of the game. A nice looking edition.
